Controller of Site Safety (COSS)
This course is for those who will carry out the duties of a Controller of Site Safety (COSS), set up Safe Systems of Work for a group whilst on or near the line.
COSS Conductor Rail Permit (COSS CRP)
For COSS holders who are required to receive a Conductor Rail Permit. Responsible for a group working within 300mm of an uncovered conductor rail (DCCR Level 1)
COSS Overhead Line Permit (COSS OLP)
This course is for COSS holders who are required to receive an Overhead Line Permit (Form C) Responsible for a group working with 2.75m of the OLE.
Engineering Supervisor (ES)
This course is designed to suit those who will undertake the duties of an Engineering Supervisor.
Individual Working Alone (IWA)
This course is for those who need to work alone on or near the line. The person must already hold Personal Track Safety.
Lookout/Site Warden (LKT)
This training course is for those wishing to undertake the role of either a Lookout or a Site Warden.
OLE Construction Level 1 (OLEC1)
Those who require to Access an OLEC designated site.
Protection Controller (PC)
Those who are required to take Line Blockages and share the protection with other COSS/IWA.
Person In Charge Of Possession (PICOP)
This course is for those who will undertake the duties of a Person in Charge of Possession
Possession Support (PS)
This course is for those who are required to place protection for an Engineers Possession.
Personal Track Safety AC (PTS AC)
Anyone who is required to work "on or near the line" (within 3m of the nearest rail normally or 1.25m of a station platform edge) is required to be qualified in PTS. This includes lines that are either not electrified or have Overhead Line Electrification (OLE). Lines electrified by DC Conductor Rails (commonly referred to as either 3rd or 4th rails) also require PTS DCCR training.
Personal Track Safety DCCR (PTS DCCR)
A course for anyone who is required to work in area electrified by DC Conductor Rails (commonly referred to as either 3rd or 4th rails) must also undergo PTS DCCR training, even if the rails are isolated at the time. Examples of such areas are Merseyrail in Liverpool, Watford to London and the South East.
Senior Person In Charge Of Possession (SPICOP)
This course is for those who will undertake the duties of a Senior Person In Charge Of Possession
Safe Work Leader One (SWL1)
Those who require to carry out the duties of a SWL1.
Safe Work Leader Two (SWL2)
Those who require to carry out the duties of a SWL2.
